Privacy Policy
1 Overview & Commitment
Welcome to Charger Tester, developed by JEWEALITY (founded by Mahesh Varma). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy details how Charger Tester handles device hardware metrics, advertising, and user data.
2 Data We Do NOT Collect
Charger Tester has no user registration, login accounts, or remote user profiles. We do NOT collect:
- Your name, email address, physical address, or phone number
- Your contacts, call logs, SMS, or messages
- Photos, videos, audio, or files on your device
- GPS location or precise geographic data
- Financial details, payment methods, or banking credentials
3 Information Processed Locally on Your Device
To measure charging speed, identify fast charging adapters, and graph battery health curves, Charger Tester accesses Android system hardware APIs (specifically android.os.BatteryManager and battery broadcast intents).
The metrics processed on your phone include:
- Electrical Parameters: Real-time current (mA / µA), voltage (mV), calculated wattage (Watts = V × A), and power flow.
- Battery Status: Charge percentage level, battery temperature, health status, charging technology (Li-ion, Li-poly), and power source (AC wall adapter, USB-C PD, Wireless Qi, or USB).
- Charging History Records: Start time, completion time, duration, energy accumulated (mWh), and charger labels you choose to assign.
4 Background Recording & Foreground Service
Charger Tester offers an optional Background Recording feature. When enabled by the user in Settings, the app initiates an Android Foreground Service with an ongoing notification while your phone is plugged in.
- Purpose: To record accurate, uninterrupted charging curves while the screen is turned off or while using other apps.
- Transparency: A clear, dismissible ongoing status bar notification displays the live charging speed and elapsed time.
- Automatic Termination: The background recording service automatically shuts down and releases wake locks as soon as the charger is disconnected.
5 Third-Party Services & Advertising
Charger Tester is supported by non-intrusive mobile banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob.
Google AdMob and Google Play Services may collect and process pseudonymous identifiers such as your device Advertising ID (GAID) and crash telemetry in accordance with Google's policies:
- Google AdMob: Serves banner advertisements and manages ad delivery. For details on how Google uses data, visit: Google Advertising Privacy & Terms.
- Consent Management: We utilize Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) SDK to respect user consent choices under European GDPR and privacy regulations. You can review or update your advertising preferences anytime from the app's Settings screen via "Privacy Options".
6 User Control & Data Deletion
You have full sovereignty over your data at all times:
- Clear All History: You can permanently wipe your entire charging history and all recorded sessions directly inside the app: navigate to Settings → Clear All History.
- Auto-Delete Policy: You can configure the app to automatically purge sessions older than 7 days, 30 days, 3 months, or 6 months.
- App Uninstall: Uninstalling the application completely removes all locally stored databases, caches, and preferences from your device.
7 Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Charger Tester is a general utility diagnostic application and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8 Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect modifications in our features, Google Play Developer policies, or legal requirements. Updates will be published on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
